Heart Reflections
Waiting With Grace
Waiting is one of the hardest seasons of faith. It tests patience, quiets pride, and reveals what we truly believe about God’s timing. Yet in the stillness of waiting, God is doing His deepest work.
The Psalms remind us, “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him” (Psalm 37:7). Stillness does not mean inactivity. It means trust. It means choosing not to manipulate outcomes, but instead surrendering them to the One who holds tomorrow.
In Hebrew, the word for “wait” is (qavah). It means more than simply passing time. It paints the picture of being bound together, like cords twisted into a strong rope. To qavah on the Lord is to bind yourself to Him in hope and expectation. Waiting then becomes an act of strength, not weakness, because as you wait, your life is being woven into His faithfulness.
When we learn to qavah, the waiting season becomes fertile ground. Our roots sink deeper into God’s promises. Our hearts grow more tender to His whispers. Our vision clears as distractions fade away. The waiting becomes sacred because it binds us closer to Him.
Waiting is not wasted when it is surrendered. Like a seed hidden in the soil, unseen but not forgotten, God is preparing something to bloom at the appointed time. And when it comes forth, you will realize the waiting shaped you as much as the promise itself.
Your waiting is not empty. It is holy. It is where grace does its best work.
