Heart Reflections
When Emotions Feel Like Truth
There are moments when emotions feel undeniable.
The frustration feels justified.
The disappointment feels valid.
The insecurity feels convincing.
And in those moments, it is easy to assume that what is felt must be true.
But emotions are not always accurate narrators.
They are responses.
They are signals.
They are indicators of internal movement.
They are not final authority.
An emotion can be shaped by exhaustion, comparison, past experiences, or simple misunderstanding. When left unchecked, it can distort perception and influence decisions prematurely.
In 1 Samuel 30:6, David faced overwhelming loss. Yet Scripture says he strengthened himself in the Lord.
That strength required pause.
It required discernment.
It required filtering emotion through truth before taking action.
Reflection creates space between feeling and reaction.
And in that space, clarity returns.
Emotions may speak loudly.
But truth remains steady.
